Welcome to Pune - India

Pune is nestled in Maharashtra, the prosperous state which has Mumbai (Bombay) as a capital. Pune is the second town in Maharashtra, roughly 200 kilometers south-east of Mumbai. This city has a population of over 4.5 million inhabitants. It has a very pleasant climate almost through the year, except during the summer months of April and May, when temperatures can reach 40°C. Monsoon, from July to September, is usually moderate, leading to cool days and nights (around 26°C).

Pune has many names, from the "Cultural Capital of the state" to the "Oxford of the East". Indeed Pune is a premier seat for some of the oldest and finest universities in the country. You will find so a lot of students in the city and the most important number of foreigners while experiencing the night life in the numerous restaurants and bars in Pune. Finally, you will find a lot of cultural events within the city, like the Film festival. Pune offers all the varieties of food you can find in India, from the North India meet-oriented meals to the spicy dosais and idlis from the South, along with typical marahashtrian Thali.
